Khayelitsha, South Africa
Mimi lives in a very poor township called Khayelitsha. During 2007, she started to feed children in this township who normally do not have any
consistent food to eat. This is an area where many children come home to find no food and many times no parents. Mimi started feeding children
once/day as she also works full time as a house cleaner for a hotel.
Her dream is to provide at least 2 meals/day for all the children who need it in her area of the township. Currently, she feeds approximately
50 each day. Mimi also provides shelter and a place to stay for children who are in a distressful situation. She does this on a temporary basis
until the children and/or their family can take them back in.
Current needs include money for ongoing support, equipment, plus clothes, bibles, and more.

Kuyasa, South Africa
This project started in a 3 bedroom house owned by Linda Klimbashe, with 20 children and a 3 member staff taking in children between the ages
of 3 and 6 years old. They now have two small buildings that house over 120 children ages between 3 and 6 and house over 80 children ages 0 to
2 1/2. It is amazing to see what they do with such limited space. They are cramped beyond belief. An incredible staff making an incredible
difference in the community of Kuyasa.
Current needs include money for expansion, maintenance, plus clothes, toys, diapers, books, and much more.

Beaufort West, South Africa
People have moved in and live in Beaufort West's dump site. They sift through the garbage for food and sort the garbage for recycling where
they might earn $2/day if they are lucky. It is a terrible place that has my heart. What they need is support for this project. Not only
to feed and cloth them, but also create a safe haven outside the dump where they can go for food, clothes, showers, clean water, and eventually
move to. This will allow them to live in a cleaner environment but still work in the dump if they need to.
Current needs include money donations, an estimated $20,000 would take care of this entire project.
Beaufort West, South Africa
This is a project that involves taking care of street children. Beaufort West is on a main highway between two major cities in South Africa.
The kids turn to prostitution, stealing, alcohol, drugs, etc. This project takes in these homeless kids and feeds them once day (mostly just
bread) and supplies showers and a place to hang out.
They could use $700/month to feed them 2-3 nutritious meals every day, cloth them and keep the showers and upkeep going. They want this to be
a safe house as well where the kids can stay. Last trip, we brought them clothes, soccer balls, shoes (big need), and then went shopping and
brought them food and a microwave. Another project that will just tug at your heart.
Current needs include money donations, clothes, toys, shoes (badly needed), and more.
Knyser, South Africa
This is a safe home for children in Knyser, South Africa. They currently take care of 40 children but want to expand to 150 children. They
could use at least $500/month to help them accomplish this goal, and to keep up with food/clothes. This is the home where one child about 5
was hiding in a corner from us as she was abused (sexually) from a man. She was scared of all men.
?, South Africa
This is childrens home for about 150 orphans in South Africa. This projects needs teams to go there and play/work with the kids, paint walls,
and do maintenance. They could use any and all help that they could get. Ongoing support costs of at least $1000/month would go a long way
toward helping them out.
Berrydale, South Africa
This is a farm school located near Barrydale, South Africa. They need all kinds of help from maintenance teams, teams to work with the kids,
money for food, clothing, books, and other supplies. $400/month would really help them out.
Berrydale, South Africa
This is another farm school located near Barrydale, South Africa. Once again, they need all kinds of help from maintenance teams, teams to work
with the kids, money for food, clothing, books, and other supplies. $400/month would really help them out too.
Beaufort West, South Africa
This project is also in Beaufort West. It needs quite a lot in working teams mostly. It also needs money to expand so they can truly make a
difference in the community. They need $1000/month. They have a hospice that they are trying to get more active, a huge job creation program
and want to act as a safe house for children.
